Hi everyone! And welcome to my blog!
I thought I would make my first blog about a scrumptious recipe that I discovered recently via Pinterest. I love Pinterest, I probably spend way too much time ‘pinning’ but as a result have learnt a few handy hints, discovered some delicious recipes and now have a very long list of ‘must makes’. And most importantly, I have discovered some businesses that sell very lovely items.
So, this is the yummy recipe that I would like to share with you. It is for Cookie Dough Brownies. Just mention the two words ‘cookie’ and ‘dough’ together and you have my attention! And added with the word ‘brownie’ makes it even more appealing so thus why I couldn’t resist. This is a really easy recipe also, so another reason to make it.
Here is a photo of my brownies which my husband certainly enjoyed as did my colleagues at work.
The recipe comes from the blog Stylish Cuisine.
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups plain flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Cookie dough layer:
225 grams butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
4 Tablespoons milk
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cup plain flour
2 cups dark chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter
Make the Brownie Layer:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease a 20 x 33 cm pan and line with baking paper.
In the bowl of a mixer, combine sugar, cocoa, flour and salt. Add oil, eggs and vanilla, and beat on medium speed for about three minutes.
Pour mixture into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
Make the Cookie Dough Layer:
In a medium bowl, combine butter with white and brown sugars. Add milk and vanilla and mix until combined. Add the flour. Spread this over the cooled brownies and then top with glaze.
Make the Chocolate Glaze:
Melt the chocolate chips and butter until lightly melted, but with chunks of chocolate still in tact. Spread over brownies.
Makes about 24 pieces.
This turns out to be quite a large slab when finished so make sure you have lots of people to share it with! Enjoy! xo
